Meet Bobbie

Bobbie Clayton is a lifelong resident of Willis, and a proud graduate of Willis High School. She brings decades of experience in public service, accountability, and civil rights enforcement to her campaign.

Bobbie earned her undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University and later completed a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She retired from the United States Department of Education after 22 years as a Civil Rights Investigator, where she enforced federal laws prohibiting discrimination in elementary, secondary, and postsecondary educational institutions, working to ensure equal access and fairness for students, families, and educators.

In addition to her federal service, Bobbie also served the State of Texas as a Civil Rights Investigator with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Human Resources Department. In that role, she investigated discrimination and employment-related civil rights matters, reinforcing her commitment to justice, due process, and equal opportunity under the law.

Bobbie is running to be a strong voice for Texans, with a focus on strengthening public education, supporting responsible gun safety laws that protect families and children, and advocating for fair, lawful, and humane immigration policies. She believes leadership is a calling rooted in faith, integrity, accountability, and service.

Grounded in faith and Texas values, Bobbie Clayton is committed to building a safer, stronger future for Texas.

Issues

  • We must rebuild and reinvest in public education. Every child—no matter their ZIP code, background, or family income—deserves a strong public school that opens doors, not closes them. Teachers should be respected, classrooms should be fully funded, and students should have the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.  Public dollars must strengthen public schools—not be siphoned away to private interests. That’s why I will fight to rescind public grants and voucher programs that divert taxpayer money into private school attendance, leaving our public schools under-resourced and our children underserved.

  • We must honor the sacred value of human life by passing common-sense gun safety laws—background checks, limits on weapons of war, safe storage requirements, and policies that keep guns out of dangerous hands. Protecting our children is not a partisan issue; it is a moral one.

  • We must work toward a more compassionate and just immigration system. Families belong together. Hardworking parents should not live in fear. Children should not be torn from the arms of the people who love them. That is why I will stand firmly to stop unnecessary ICE deportations and push for humane reforms that focus on dignity, fairness, and keeping families intact. America is strongest when we honor the contributions of immigrants—not when we criminalize them.

  • A strong democracy depends on the active participation of its people, the protection of their rights, and unwavering respect for the rule of law. In the United States of America, the right to vote is not just a civic duty—it is the foundation of representative government and the voice through which citizens shape their future.

  • Healthcare is not a privilege reserved for the wealthy, the employed, or the fortunate — it is a fundamental human right. In the wealthiest nation on Earth, no one should have to choose between paying rent and seeing a doctor, between filling a prescription and putting food on the table, or between calling an ambulance and risking bankruptcy.
